T-37B Tweet - Installation help
While downloading and installing, be sure that your antivirus software is turned off, otherwise there is a high probability of a corrupt installation.
- The T-37B Tweet is compatible with Prepar3D v4.5 Hotfix 1 or later.
- The installer will point by default to the Documents\Prepar3D v4 add-ons folder. You may install the product there or in any other folder or hard drive on your computer. The installer will make sure that Prepar3D detects the add-on installation. Please avoid installing in Prepar3D's root folder.
- An advantage of this installation approach is that even if you uninstall and reinstall P3D, the add-on will remain unaffected and be picked up by Prepar3D the next time you install the sim, without having to reinstall the add-on as well.
- The installer ended successfully, but I cannot see the Tweet in my aircraft list
- It is very possible that the add-ons.cfg file found under %programdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 has been corrupt. This usually happens when a user manually edits this file, or if an installer directly writes into it, which should never be done according to Lockheed Martin. In that case, the only solution may be to delete the add-ons.cfg file and let Prepar3D create it again. If you are missing add-ons after doing this, you probably have to reinstall them.
- I can see the Tweet in my Prepar3D aircraft list, but when I load the sim it hangs or crashes. What's wrong?
- It is very possible that the encoding of add-ons.cfg file found under %programdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 has been changed. This usually happens when a user manually edits this file, or if an installer directly writes into it, which should never be done according to Lockheed Martin. The encoding of the file can be changed with Notepad++ and it should be UCS-2 LE BOM, which is what P3D installs it in. If changing the encoding doesn't work, the only solution may be to delete the add-ons.cfg file and let Prepar3D create it again. If you are missing add-ons after doing this, you probably have to reinstall them.
